Food & Drink in Kinloch Rannoch
Riverside Cafe is a relatively new addition to the village of Kinloch Rannoch, on the main street near the salon, offering local home-cooked fayre prepared fresh daily on the premises. They serve a smoked meats platter from the local Rannoch Smokery, a selection of home made soups, stovies, paninis and sandwiches, fresh home baking and a selection of hot and cold drinks among other delights.
The café also hosts a selection of artwork, all of which can be purchased and has been done by local artists – including glassware, woodcraft and paintings. Riverside Cafe sells many gifts, cards and local produce as well as stationary and traditional Scottish souvenirs. The café is warm and inviting, with free reading materials such as newspapers and a selection of seating.
Walk along the main street and turn left over the bridge and you will find the Country Store, offering a selection of groceries; wines, beers and spirits; a quick hot snack for those on the move; bird feed and souvenirs – you will find the staff within the shop friendly and helpful.
Along the road, past the loch and uphill towards Rannoch Station you will find the MacDonald Loch Rannoch Hotel, offering traditional Scottish Fayre and views over Loch Rannoch. The Ptarmigan Restaurant and Schiehallion Bar offers panoramic views of the village and the loch, providing a peaceful dinner or lunchtime location. If looking to be a little less formal you can also eat in the hotel’s Malt Bar beside the log fire.
